Ways to protect yourself and your family from coronavirus

Coronavirus has been declared as a global emergency by WHO and the havoc it is creating is spreading like a bush-fire. In this stressful time, we must know how to fight back and keep ourselves and our families safe. That’s why WHO has come up with some guidelines or precautions I must say, to follow to reduce its spread and stopping your family from getting infected. These steps are:

1. Wash Your hands Often

Wash Your hands Often to Prevent Coronavirus

Wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds if you have been to a public area, or recently coughed, sneezed or blew your nose.

If soap and water are not available, a hand sanitizer that contains 60% alcohol can be used to clean your hands. Rub it continuously until your hand feels dry. Acquire this practice not to touch your face with unwashed hands.

2. Maintain Social Distancing

Stay away from gathering to prevent coronavirus

Maintain at least 1 meter distance from you and the person who is coughing and sneezing. This is because the person coughing might have the virus that you don’t know.

The virus is spread mainly via droplet. So if a person coughing/sneezing is very close to you, there’s a high chance you may inhale the droplets, let alone the virus it contains.

3. Cover When Coughing and Sneezing

As it is important to keep a safe distance, it is also our duty to stop spreading it. Because it is being transmitted by droplets, we should be careful about how we cough and sneeze.

Let’s not try to cough in our hands like we always do. Usage of tissue or coughing in your sleeve should be practiced. Through the tissue in the bin after using it. When you unintentionally coughed on your hands, clean your hands immediately by soap and water.

4. Wear A Face Mask
